It has been way too long since we updated our blog about our journey. During Q3 of this year, we focused heavily on technical development. We worked on safety testing, firmware updates, and application development to get the LYEONS Heart MVP launched.

As we are still a very small team, our core members wear many different hats. We do not just switch roles between months or weeks, but often within the same hour. We shift from operators and developers to researchers and social media coordinators. Is there anything we do not enjoy? Honestly, we love the diversity of the tasks. Of course, it is not always easy to jump from one thing to another, but after being in a startup for over six years, this has simply become our way of operating.

Over the past few months, we have made significant progress. Beyond technical development, we have established research protocols, assembled a team of principal investigators and researchers for our 2026 studies, invited new advisors, and formed an internal ethics board to guide our research framework. Alongside these milestones, we have been developing the procedures, policies, and guidelines that form the foundation of LYEONS.
What has been the most exciting part? There are so many things, but a major highlight was definitely passing the test house requirements for CE/UKCA marking. We also launched our beta tester through Kickstarter (we will be sharing more soon about how we prepared, launched, and met our goal:)).

While there is plenty of great news, it has not always been an easy journey. A mix of professional, personal, and health challenges, including a very nasty flu that went around the team, has challenged us. Sometimes these challenges hit all at once, making you feel like you cannot get back up. But we do stand up, and we will continue to do so.

Someone recently asked us in start ups, what is considered as a “failure.” I believe we only fail when we stop trying. To anyone else facing challenging days: we understand. It is hard. We want you to know that everyone faces these hurdles, but if we keep going, we will get there.
